      <image:title>DAY TRIPS/TOURS - Skeleton Coast</image:title>
<image:caption>The Skeleton Coast stretches from central Namibia to the north. The cold Benguela current along the coast gives rise to thick ocean fog. In the days prior to engine powered ships, ships would often run ashore and due to the large surf, remain stuck there. Today, many shipwrecks can be seen along this stretch of coastline as well as whole remains from countless beached whales.</image:caption>

      <image:title>INFO - Bowhunting Walk and Stalk/Spot and Stalk</image:title>
<image:caption>Walk and stalk or spot and stalk is every bow hunters favorite method of bow hunting but unfortunately not always the most successful. Spot and stalk can be very difficult at certain times of the year as the thick Mopani cover drops its leaves during the dry season, May through to September. The best months to walk and stalk bow hunt are during our raining season, March through the end of April and again in October. During this time of the season spot and stalk is ideal as thick cover will offer great stalking opportunities, allowing hunters to get well within range.</image:caption>

<image:title>INFO - Bowhunting from Ground Blinds Over Watering Holes</image:title>
<image:caption>Bow hunting from a ground blind is certainly the most successful method of hunting in Namibia throughout our winter months. In some situations, we may set up portable pop-up blinds but the majority of the hunting will be done from our well constructed ground blinds placed strategically throughout the ranch near the watering points. Our ground blinds are big and spacious with more than enough roof clearance for even the longer traditional recurve bows and spacious enough to comfortably fit 3 to 4 people. The ground blinds are built with rock and concrete for ultimate sturdiness and an all round natural appearance. Each blind has a full size door at the rear with two windows on each side. Not only are the blinds built for a wide range of bowhunters, they are also wheel chair accessible. The ground blinds have all been built between 20 and 30 yards from the furthest part of the water hole ensuring our hunters have a comfortable shot. <image:title>INFO - Bowhunting From Tree Stands Over Water and Game Trails</image:title>
<image:caption>Bowhunting from tree stands has become popular over the last few years in Namibia. If placed correctly, a tree stand can be a very successful bowhunting method. We place our tree stands above well used game trails or temporary water where heavy game activity is noticed. We encourage our traditional archers to hunt from the tree stand as the shot opportunities tend to be closer, sometimes directly bellow you within 15 yards. A big advantage of a tree stand over a ground blind is they are easy to setup and move around. During the rainy season, animals prefer to drink from ponds that are dry during the winter months. Tree stands can be set up on short notice in these areas. If our clients are interested in bowhunting from tree stands, we recommend they bring their own safety harness with as it allows for ultimate comfort.</image:caption>

<image:title>INFO - Wing Shooting Guinea-fowl, Quail, and Francolin in Namibia</image:title>
<image:caption>Frontier Safaris Namibia is home to a thick Mopani covered rolling hills topography, but we also have a few open grass plains. This is where our bigger game birds are found, such as Guinea-Fowl and Francolin. The most common method of hunting our larger game birds are driven hunts or flush hunting them in the open grass plains. While the larger game birds such as Guinea-Fowl and Francolin are resident to the ranch, Quail are migratory birds and dependent on good rains. They follow Namibias rain paternities and are found in greater number during seasons with heavy rain. Quail are flush hunted, providing our clients with a high speed exhilarating shoot.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Namibia is home to a great number of doves and Frontier Safaris Namibia has a large population of two huntable species, the Cape Turtle dove and the African Laughing Dove. While they are fast, it is their unpredictable flying pattern that makes them one of the most difficult African game birds to bag. Doves are hunted around watering holes in the early mornings, afternoon, and again in the evenings providing clients with ample opportunities.</image:caption>

      <image:title>INFO - Leopard Hunting Over Bait</image:title>
<image:caption>Baiting is the most popular method of hunting Leopards throughout Africa. To ensure the most success when baiting leopards there are two main factors you need to take into consideration. First being how warm is it at the time of the hunt. Second being how much natural pray is in the area at the time. Africa can get hot, very hot during its summer months and heat doesn’t go well with baiting as the heat makes the bait rot too fast. For this reason, the best time to bait leopards is during our colder and dryer winter months June, July and August. Also, during this time of the year, our plains game species are not calving making our bait much more appealing. Baiting will usually start weeks if not months before the client arrives for his safari and will continue throughout his safari. Bait hunting leopards is the ultimate African safari and requires skill, patience and a fair amount of luck. Never easy, a leopard is always a well earned trophy.</image:caption>

      <image:title>INFO - Predator Calling Leopards</image:title>
<image:caption>Although not the most common way to hunt leopards, predator calling can be an alternative to baiting and successful at times. Predator calling is most successful when leopards are on the hunt for pray in the early mornings and late evenings. The best time of the year to call in leopards is when there are not as many natural pray around during the months of June, July and August. Although you might entice a number of other predators into the caller before you get a chance at a leopard, if there’s a leopard in the area, odds are he’ll come into the call. In addition, Leopards need to drink water on a daily basis and every now and again, they are spotted during daylight hours coming into watering holes for a drink. Although the least common and requiring the most luck, every so often, leopards are hunted out of opportunity.</image:caption>
